About Us
The Beginning
Felix, known to family and friends as “Felito,” believes his happiest times are when family and friends come together to enjoy “un Cafecito and chismosería.”
A Havana born immigrant, Felito made the brave decision to come to America over 25 years ago, where he mastered the art of preparing authentic Cuban specialties.
Felix does not consider himself a barista, more so, he is a Cuban espresso enthusiast who is enjoying his dream come true, first in America and now at Cafelito, where he invites you in to discover and share Cuban culture through Felix’s “little window of opportunity” here at Cafelito.

Our History
My story began in small neighborhood in Havana City.
Growing up in the 70’s in Cuba was a great experience, with a deep tradition of “El Cafecito” in the morning. My family members only drink the best café made by the elderly in the family, in this case my grandpa Felito the 1st, who we call “Abuelito.”
Because I was named after him, I would love to believe he taught me the skills to prepare a perfect café con leche, as well as fresh bake Cuban bread.
Here in Key West, where the Cuban culture is warmly embraced, my nephew, Felito the 3rd persuaded me to open a coffee shop where I could prepare quality Cuban coffee and authentic foods to share with the locals of Key West and its visitors.
The name of “Cafelito” is the combination of Café and Felito, in memory of Felito, my grandpa. I welcome you to come see and taste for yourself, the authentic tastes of Cuba at Cafelito, but I warn you, our “cafécito” will make you come back for more.
